If you place the bed at a perpendicular angle with the lower bed on the RIGHT/ladder on the LEFT, the sim will interact with the bed correctly. When a single bed is placed at a perpendicular angle to an upper bunk bed - with the lower bed on the LEFT/ladder on the RIGHT - a sim will not interact with the lower bed. I noticed this problem about a week or so ago, so it doesn't seem to be related to the March 14th infant update.
